Title: frozen meat
Post by: sarahp on August 11, 2006, 06:25:26 PM
I had a BARF delivery of frozen meat on Monday.  I have got some lamb ribs (well racks of really - but thats another story)

It has been frozen into bags of 12 - 15 racks per bag - so WAY too much to use in one go - does anyone know if its safe to defrost it, portion it up, then freeze it again??

Also if anyone has any ideas on how to portion up racks of ribs - I would be very grateful  ::) :005: :005:

What I would do is this.......
Get a meat cleaver - or actually I use a wood chopper - like a mini axe - from any good hardware store.
Then let the ribs defrost slightly - enough to chop them apart from each other.... then you should be able to chop in between the ribs - go with the ribs as opposed to against the ribs... then freeze again... :D
