what to feed ?
« on: July 13, 2017, 09:27:32 AM »
My cocker has been raw fed for 7 years. When on holiday we usually manage as we normally have a freezer but for the first time it is not ideal to take food that needs to be put in the freezer.

What sort of foods would you use in this case? I have looked into Natures menu and a brand called lukullus they do pouches and tins. just need some ideas really.

You could try Naturediet or Forthglade they are both wet foods and have grain free menus as well as ones with rice. Both also do dry foods now.

I know there are many more out there but these are my two mainstays.
Remembering Smudge 23/11/2006 - 3/8/2013, and Branston 30/8/14 - 28/10/22 both now at the Bridge.

My two are raw fed but I always keep a few trays of Naturediet around in case I forget to take their raw food out of the freezer in time to thaw out. I'd sooner stick with a wet food than give them a dry one because they're used to getting much of their moisture requirements from the natural water content in their raw and I wonder if feeding dry food, even if just for a few days, might upset them.
