Thanks for that Dunbarney, i wish i was near you as that would be good. 
I'm not letting him off lead yet as things are still too new for us both and i'm not sure on his recall. Are any COL'ers near me? and if you are would you be willing to meet up in a controlled way so that Marley can learn to socialise properly. I really don't want this to become an issue but i don't really know many people with dogs

Aw wish I was nearer you too, I'd be very happy to let him frolic off lead with my two. A meet up is a good idea as they tend to stay closer when there is a big gang of them - COL meets can have stacks of dogs all off lead for a couple of hours I often can't tell which my cocker is as they're all zooming around together and love it
but I always seem to get him back at the end it's very rare to loose one! Why don't you post in the meet up section of the board explain the situation and I'm sure you will find some more than willing helpers to meet up with
