Misha made her debut at her first flyball competition on Saturday in Sheffield. It was the most miserable day weather wise with continuous drizzle all day long - thankfully the event was indoors, however there was plenty of mud to go round (cocker heaven
)
As we weren't able to get a team together for starters Misha went along to take part in the run-backs (practice run before each group of races). We had 6 races with a combination of 6 dogs. Misha took part in 3 of the races (as well as the run backs) and didn't put a foot wrong
- as the day went on she totally got caught up in the excitement of it all and in our last race she did her best time and was incredibly hyped up about it all. At the beginning she turned from standing very politely waiting for her turn to straining at the collar to get going.
We didn't get a bad result either coming 2nd in our division, so Misha got her first flyball rosette as well as picking up 40 points (the first flyball milestone is 200 points), so we've made a good start.
Was also lovely to see quite a few other cockers taking part including a working version of Misha - who I could have easily snaffled. Our team was a mixed group, a whippet, staffy, collie, labrador, mixed terrier and Misha.
I was so proud and pleased for her and she just loved the whole day
- I think she overdosed on cuddles and treats a little
Next time I'll get photos, and hopefully Roly will be taking part as well as we will have enough for a starters team.
