Eating bamboo leaves

We have a small bamboo cluster in our garden and have noticed lately that both Flo and our cat love munching on the leaves ... I know panda bears eat bamboo, and humans eat bamboo shoots... So I guess it's fine for doggie .

Maisie eats ours too, really weird. She's partial to the new shoots as they come through the ground more than the 'grown up leaves  . She's been doing it for a couple of years with no ill effects but must admit I've never looked up if she should be eating it.
