size bag and freshness

I'm just about to get another bag of kibble for Sandon, if I buy a massive bag will it stay fresh or am I better getting smaller bags? Sorry silly question I'm sure!

I get the massive bags but store it in a big plastic airtight bucket.

I get a 6.8kg bag which lasts my two about a month and it stays fresh.  I do decant into a tub with lid though.
