Hope the corn is just a coincidence and nobody is actually trying to harm Ruby, there really are some strange people around to do something like that, so probably best to keep a close eye on the garden and Ruby

I'd definitely be suspicious of the corn - you said it was a whole, cooked cob - people don't usually throw uneaten cobs in their bins. Hopefully it is nothing sinister, but if this person is a nutter who goes reporting people to the council for no good reason who knows what he/she's capable of. I'd keep vigilant for a while...
