Grooming a Post-op Cocker

Darwin looks a right state 
He was over due for his spring clip , and was looking like a woolly bear, before he went in to the RVC.
He's now has an reverse mohican 
Any idea how I can work to thin and tidy up his coat as it's going to be a long time before he's allowed to go to the groomers.
Under normal circumstances he's a complete monkey about being groomed, now he'll be even worse making the most of any crate free time he has.

Thats a tough one!
Could only suggest asking the groomer to make a home visit maybe? Other than that, a deep breath, a pair of scissors and two valium (one for Darwin and one for you)!!!

I use a mobile groomer. Comes to me from Berkhamsted. A Real dog lover.

It might be worth Emailing your Groomer some photos of Darwin, that way they could hopefully suggest something.

Bea looked like Edward Scissor hand had tried to give her a Poodle clip, my groomer gave her a all over short clip in the end and thankfully it grew back.

But apart from the coat how is he? (If he's cutting up rough about grooming sounds like the old cocker spirit is returned which is maybe a good sign?...hope so.)
