Hi everyone, this is my first time....I own a beautiful working cocker called Bella who is now 12mths old. I love her too bits, however we are still struggling with her training she went to puppy socialising classes 10 wks of basic training, and now have a one to one trainer.  Bella seems to be extremely excitable (even more than an average cocker) and there lies the first issue as her excitement level is off the scale she looses focus.  I lost her for 20 minutes and thankfully found her, so now she has been on a 30ft lead to help her learn to stay close.  I hope that by joining the forum we can improve her behaviour/obedience

Hi Rosie Bone and Bella (love the name) am so glad you have found us, you are welcome and will hopefully find some help here, there is a thread on behaviour and training etc,  have a look there and also post any queries....some one will come along with some advice I'm sure.

For my part working cockers are said to be more lively than show.... :005: although  some show cocker owners will disagree ;)

I think sticking with the one to one is a good idea....my only other advice would be to ask about classes for older dogs......also exercise - workers need an awful lot more.

Hope you enjoy
