Just caught up with this. Sorry to see William needed surgery. Pleased that the vet is confident he got clear margins  :bigarmhug: for you both.

That must have been a bit of a shock for your Elaine.  Great that they have caught it early and William is recovering well.  When does he have his stiches out or will they disolve.   What a worry these pooches are to us.

I think william is lucky he has such a great mum, you noticing it and taking him off to the vet so quickly really is a blessing. I hope his mouth heals quickly and he can get back to eating the forest stick by stick.

His stitches are dissolvable and are starting to dissolve now, 12 days after his surgery. I've started taking him back on his usual walks in the New Forest and so far he's been happy carrying a tennis ball, which seems to stop him wanting to chew sticks. He's back to his other favourite pastime of eating horse poo though :005:

I wasn't expecting to read this, Elaine, so glad you found it when you did and it hadn't spread. Hope he is soon back to carrying around his sticks! :luv:

Glad you found it early but sorry that the diagnosis wasn't very good  :'( hope the stitches are out soon so William can get a good run and chew a few sticks (Pearl loves doing this too) x
