Mine! Jean Donaldson a book for resource guarding
« on: February 12, 2016, 09:55:55 PM »
Emma (Archie Bean) sent me a book she had read and used with great success called Mine written by Jean Donaldson.  It gives some excellent advice on resource guarding etc.

If anybody wants it, send me your address in a message and I will post it to you.  The only proviso is that you keep it for a month, then pass it on to somebody else on here who would benefit from the advice.

 :clapping: :clapping: Brilliant idea Pat.
It's the book that helped me turn the nightmare that was Archie in the cuddle on legs that I now live with!

Great idea  :clapping: its a book I read to help me understand how to cope with Harry, there seems to be a few people struggling on here at the moment. Like Patp and Archie Bean I can really recommend it.

What a great idea, is there a section on cockers pinching socks :005:

Sorry for teasing, I think it will be very useful to some members who ate struggling with this.

Your a star.

Hi, thanks for this. I will check this out. Would you include guarding you as resource guarding?

Yes absolutely. It's quite a common form of it and there's info in the book about it.

Do you think this would help me eith Selby? Everytime i go on the phone he will not leave me alone, he can be fast asleep, but as soon as he hears me on the phone, he is all over me, wanting cuddles..... If any one comes to the flat he barks constantly and comes to sit next to me, even when hubby comes home wherever he is he comes running sits next to me and barks...
Have tried everything, he is a lovely little boy though..love him to bits and can do anything with him..

That doesn't sound like resource guarding really but more a separation/overattachment problem
