Photobucket
« on: July 30, 2017, 01:09:40 PM »
Hi,
Just had an email come through from Photobucket saying
" some features on your account will be disabled," because
" We have noticed that you have been using Photobucket for 3RD party hosting"
The last time I used photobucket was when I posted a photo of Megan on her Gotcha Day in April.
Just wonder if any of you have received an email like this? they say I should upgrade to Plus 500,
is this a ply to get any cash?
Val

I had a similar email.
I only used photobucket to upload to COL, and I can now upload via Tapatalk on my mobile (I think), so certainly won't be paying them anything....

I guess it may well mean a lot of older photos disappear from the forum over time.... seems to me Photobucket is shooting itself in the foot, though.... I suspect there will be very few people willing to pay photobucket now that most people can store photos on phones and in various clouds, and can more easily upload photos to forums....

I cancelled my photobucket last week and now use the Imgbb as recommended on here. The photos are lost but I only used it for this forum anyway. Imgbb is also free and I find it simpler to use.

I had the same message too. I rarely use Photobucket now, so I think I'm going to make sure I have those photos elsewhere and then close my Photobucket account. I certainly won't be paying for it!

Having just found out about the changes with photobucket and the fact I could not access my photos without paying, due to the restrictions.
I emailed them, not reall6 expecting a response, but received this one.
Have tried it out & it works perfectly.
Hope it helps

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to us. Unfortunately, since your account has exceeded its storage limit you will need to upgrade your account to a higher storage plan in order to unlock your account.

However, you can still access your account through the mobile app and delete your contents there to free up some storage.

Thank you.
