Hi guys - i got a 6 year old cocker spaniel who is biting and licking himself either side of his privates - he has been wormed and has had his flea treatment - no sign of fleas but he is making himself sore any ideas ?
Vets tomorrow just wondering on opinions?

Hi, - it could be any number of things, grass mites, allergies - food or grass seeds, insect bites, even stress, etc etc. A visit to the vet's probably the best bet!

Could it be his anal glands bothering him? Can't reach all the way round there, noticed any bad smell or been scooting on his bum at all?

Don't think it's that - he has a couple of sores around his privates and he won't let you go near them - he is just not settling - he just can't get comfortable

Cant offer any advice but I am sure your vet will sort it 👍

If he has sores around there any urine touching them will be also adding to his soreness - it will be burning and stinging, I had thought that maybe he had cocked his leg up against stinging neetles when out on a walk(we had that with our last cocker -very distressed) bit its the fact that he has sores that is concerning.....defo the vets me thinks

Hi Guys, the vet gave him a good check over and in his opinion he has an infection in the area that he has constantly licked and everything was very inflamed - he is going back again in 3 days
In the meantime he has antibiotics and some steroids to take the pain away
