Flyball Beginner's Course
« on: September 12, 2012, 11:32:15 AM »
Just in case anyone is interested or thinking about doing a fun activity with their dog, our flyball team the Geordie Racers are running an 8 week beginner's course starting in November.  We train in North Shields and have a variety of breeds on the team.

For further information we have a facebook page or you can pm me.

Thanks

Emma

There are a few on there. The ones I recognise are forge mill and know water Orton are a friendly team who I regularly see at comps. There are a few in stoke area if that's not too far to travel. Hope this helps :)

I have had a look at that link before. I looked at the Water Orton club, they are very good  :D. Just a bit nervous that Maisy and I will make a show of ourselves  :013:.
I have also found a club that trains at Sutton Park, has anybody seen them there?

Don't worry about making a show of yourself, it is all about having fun with your dog and learning together. They won't expect you to know anything and it is a good mental and physical work out for you both!

I am so chuffed, had an email from my sister in law and her obedience class that she helps out at, has just announced that they are starting a Flyball class if they can get enough people interested. So fingers crossed it will go ahead and Maisy and I won't be the only new comers  :005:

Flyball is definitely the greatest - don't worry if your dog doesn't pick it up immediately, some take longer than others. However if you can start getting your dog to retrieve a ball (or he/she already does) then you're part way there.

My little Ellie who was completely ball mad took over a year to figure it out, but it was well worth the effort and wait because she is a natural now and has surpassed her big sister Misha & big brother Roly who both picked it up very quickly - she is faster and has a much better technique.

The dogs absolutely love it  :D

People who have dogs live longer - it's all the extra love

I am hoping she will take to it, she is only small but she is quick and enthusiastic . She is very ball motivated, she knows away and down when waiting for me to throw her ball so I am hoping we have a start and are not totally clueless  :005:
