Title: New Puppy Older Dog
Post by: LoveCatz on December 12, 2017, 09:03:56 AM
We lost Pepsi in March at 12 years old and Woody als 12 seems to cope ok for a while. The last few months he has started messing if we’re out, chewing diirframes and generally out of character behaviour. We didn’t want to get another dog as one week out of two they would be in their own for longer in the day due to husbands new job. But we have decided that a puppy may be a good idea and we bring one home in about 4 weeks. I don’t really know what to expect from Woody. We do have the option of him meeting the puppy before we bring him home. Has anyone else done this?

We just got a pup, now three months old, as companion to our nine year old cavalier, Theo. It's taken time for Theo to get over the shock of a boisterous youngster in the house, he's always been the One and Only and doesn't have much time for other dogs anyway. Maybe Woody will be better since he's always had another dog around to share you with?

That’s what I’m hoping. We think he misses company.
