What happens if someone else is using the same whistle to call their dog?

This happened at training the other week.

The lady with the ridgeback I'd told about the method had just got a new whistle the same as mine.  She blew hers, and her dog went to her and Max came to me.  No problem there then!  :005:

Just picturing a herd of dogs rushing toward you in the local park - you'd need lots of treats :005:

Hi Debbie
Since last week i've been letting Indie off the lead on our evening walk (when the park is closed and it's just been too hot earlier) - and he's been coming back fine - he love's it and doesn't go to far away.  i have a little bag of treats with me and call him now and then and he comes back.
go for it!

Definately go for it as early as poss & train them to come back to you - it'll be worth it in the long run! Have toys, treats, etc & be prepared to make a fool of yourself though! We let Max off lead in a small, enclosed local park the minute he was fully vaccinated & allowed out properly - he never ventured far & loved learning to come back in exchange for yummies!!
