I don't have children but I can say this about dogs:

The hard part only lasts a few months, not years

It's only a matter of a couple of weeks till they're sleeping thru the night

Dog school is much cheaper and shorter than people school, and they don't have to have what everyone else is wearing, and they won't die of shame if they can't have a $150 pair of trainers.

They'll never ask me if they can use the car

(I could go on.... :005:)

PS. just for the record I adore my son.. he's marvelous and possibly even funnier than my dog was but..... he was definitely MUCH harder work! I'd say that now he's nearly 5, I find him now about as manageable as I did my 6 month old pup :)

We'll get back to you in 10 years time when he's 15 then ok  :005: ;)

Presumably he won't start 'that noise' again though...? Please tell me I've left that behind for good.. please??? I can take anything else that comes along, honestly I can, just not that muscle knotting, ear splitting, head stabbing 'how rubbish a mum are you I'm v ****** off with you you gave me my milk 2.5 mins later than I was expecting... and I'm going to punish you for hours.. possibly all night raaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!'   >:D >:D >:D >:D

Please?   :-\

Give me puppy poo and needle teeth any day  :luv:

I've got a lovely 6.5 week old baby boy & I can honestly say that so far my furry baby boy was much easier!!!!!!!!!!!! (He's now 2.5 yrs & a total star with the baby, bless him!)

I think it's the constant feeding & the ear splitting screeching that tips the balance - oh, not to mention the nappies - ha ha!!

I have 3 children, they were definately easier as babies, I understood what they wanted instinctively, with puppies you have to learn what they want.  :luv:  As for teenage years, Mollie will grow out of the grumpy teenager alot quicker than my fifteen year old son!!  ph34r so puppies are probably easier. Having a puppy is like having another child, you worry just as much about them when they are ill and are so proud of them when they have learnt something new, definately couldn't do without any of them.

Puppies, my boy had evening colic until he was on solids at 4 months it was a nightmare! where as Lilly has been almost an angel since we got her. However at 5.5 months i expect this all to change soon and as Luke is an adorable 4 year old the tables will probably be turned

Having 4 children, I would say puppies are definitely easier.........and as for answering back, Petal is 4.1/2 months old and very cheeky, when I tell her not to do something, she gives a cheeky bark back  :005:

Babies my eldest slept all through the nigt at two weeks, we he was 10lb 9 oz to start with!! Agree with the answering back, wait until they are 20 drop out of uni and go to find themselves (specially when you weren't aware that they were lost!!) Then they come back in debt expect you to bail them out (which I did) then winge at £50 a week keep with washing all food and unlimited day and night access to the fridge and Dads beer, move in the girlfriens who takes up to 4 wardrobes with her clothes (but is so much fun I must admit).
No I take it back puppies are easier.
Babies don't get SLUGS.

Viv, Whistler & Jake
5 months & 3 months
Ben 22 and Sam (finding himself in Kent age 20)
Colin 52 and 38 mice in the roof space this year!! don't live in a wooden house!!
Large garden now all dug up and no pot plants left they are all over the lawn (the green thing with holes in it)
Oh I am having fun!!

I can't say I've really suffered with either but I would say puppies because they are independent from a much quicker age and they come ready mobile.

LOL  That's very true!! Fortunately I have managed to get into a routine of sorts; the most important factor being that when my little girl Poppy has her afternoon nap, Mutley goes in his crate too and goes straight off to sleep at the same time
That couple of hours is pure bliss  :005:
