Treat balls?
« on: August 16, 2008, 02:12:50 PM »
Does anyone use these? I seen them today and was tempted to get one. I seemed to have problems with Charley in the mornings when i needed to go upstairs and leave him in the kitchen to get a shower and get dressed - he was a nightmare, especially if my son wasnt in the living room for him to dangle off and keep him occupied while i was upstairs. I know Kongs have been mentioned, but the man in the shop said that people put their dogs kibble in these treatballs which keeps them occupied say at breakfast time, which would be ideal for me.  :D

They are great.  ;) I bought a pyramid shaped one which is really good, Alfie sussed it very quickly though, even at about 10 weeks old he had mastered it.

This one was a big round turquoise one - i thought it was on the large size for a pup, but no doubt would be ok once a tad older? How does   it get rolled around with it being a pyramid?  :-\

Hi I use something similar a "busy buddy" twist and treat it's great and was only £5 form PAH you can sdjust the size of the holes to make it harder to get treats out.

They rock it so it spins onto its side etc. I thought it was actually a bit more difficult than the ball

Roxy has a treat ball, I would reccomend, you can adjust the hole so kibble comes out easily or not so easily.  She likes it and it keeps her busy rolling it round.

Jerry's is the one someone else mentioned from PAH and is a god send! I save it until I really really need to get something done. He loves it and will play for ages and ages - especially if I put a bit of a mixture of treats in...I imagine its a bit like pick 'n' mix for him!   :luv:

Yes this one had an adjustable hole - i am going to get one, if i can get a shower without the sound of puppy cries then it'l be worth its weight in gold!  :lol2: And perhaps better that it was big, it wont roll under the settee like everything else did!  ::)

Max has half of his breakfast in one  ;) he also has a busy buddy & a dumbell shaped one.
If I put the treatball down before he's finished eating out of his bowl he'll leave that & go to the treatball, which has the same food in it - so in Max's opinion, no it's not cruel  :005:

It's the waggle that Max likes best & if I could fit all of his meal in there then I would  :005:

Millie gets a whole meals worth if I'm going out or I haven't been able to give her enough exercise. But she's an adult and I know she can get all the food out.  I would just keep an eye on him and check whether the balls been emptied .
