Harry blue roan Tunbridge Wells
« on: September 15, 2009, 03:55:24 AM »
This is a long shot but Harry was lost in Feb this year I have finally bought a new pup but our neighbours were doing their garden fence and didn't tell me and when I came to check five minutes later he had gone. I trawled the streets called the dog warden called the police and put posters up everywhere!  :'(

Nicole I'm so sorry to hear about Harry - worth posting though, you just never know.  Friends of my daughter have recently been re-united with their first dog, 5 years after she went missing!!

So sorry to hear about Harry  :'( - was he chipped??  I have heard of several cases of dogs being reunited with their owners months or even years after they went missing so it is possible that he could turn up in the future.  It must be awful not know what has happened to him though.  :'(  Was he listed on Doglost?

I am so sorry about Harry.  Really hope he comes home very soon.  This must be everyone's worst nightmare.

Harry was not chipped as my vet would not chip him until he was 6 months old and he was just a few weeks off :'(

Oh, that is a shame.  :'( I waited until Coco was spayed at 6 months to have her chipped but I think in future I would have it done earlier - apparently it isn't much of a thing for them even when small, the only problem is that the chip is more likely to move around.  Better safe than sorry - I wonder if it is worth getting it done early and then just getting it done again if it moves :dunno:

Are you still speaking to your neighbours?  >:(

You can get your dogs chipped at a much younger age - mine was chipped at 12 weeks.  Worth looking into another vet if this is the case with yours.

I was told that when a pup is small, there is a far greater risk of the chip migrating so I took my vet's advice and had it done when Coco was spayed.  :-\

Now, for the sake of peace of mind, I wouldn't hesitate to have it done earlier.  :-\

I don't blame you after what happened  :-\  A lot of vets will do it earlier.

I am so sorry to hear that you lost Harry  :'( But you never know you may find him one day. My SIL (she is in thailand) found her dog Fujika 3 years after losing him.
I am glad you managed to get Poppy chipped at a much younger age. My boy Eric was chipped at 8 weeks when we picked him up. Good Luck with Poppy I hope she helps to fill the gap in your life that was left by Harry  :-*  :-*
