Poppy at Many Tears
« on: September 27, 2009, 09:23:10 PM »
Info and Pics from ManyTears.co.uk

26-09-09 Poor Poppy is just 6 months old and is our latest emergency case in need of very special and immediate care. This unlucky girl needs a liver shunt operation and needs it quickly or she won't last.
Poppy is a lovely girl, very affectionate and friends with everyone she meets. Please, we are asking for anyone with a good relationship with their vet and who can get a good, low quote for a liver shuntm operation to get in touch.  Sadly the operation that Poppy needs can run into the thousands and of course every penny is a struggle for us and has to come from somewhere.
Her owner's no longer wanted her and other large rescues turned Poppy down but we've taken her in and will do everything in our power to save her life, but we cannot without your help. Please help us find the help that this little angel needs and call us on 01269 843094 if you can help.

29-09-09 UPDATE
Poppy is very charming but very quiet for a pup. Walking her I see why - poor Poppy has damaged eyes, in fact I fear she is blind. Her liver enzymes are so high that I guess damage to the sensitive retinas has taken place. If only she had had this problem addressed early. It's hard and very sad to believe that someone with an extremely responsible job could ignore their responsibilities and cause this suffering.
This has been one of the most expensive weekends ever here and the most discouraging.  Dumped pups, neglected dogs and sadness and despair, thank goodness for those of you who agree to help. THANK YOU.

POPPY IS NOT READY FOR ADOPTION YET.

(Sorry if Poppy is on here twice, I'm sure I saw her on here but couldn't find the post to put on the MT update)

What kind of owners are they that can just ignore and then abandon their little pup. >:D I would do anything to get the money if my dog was ill.

Can an account be set up for us to donate towards her operation?

I was going to ask the same - I'm sure there are lots of us on here who would like to give something towards her costs, poor girl... how could they do that?

Absolutely....me three!!

Can I just ask though..............the thread asks about getting in touch with good, kind vets for help. This I would gladly do but are in Bournemouth.....would this be practical/possible/of use for Poppy.......is she in Wales?

Edited.......sorry but forgot to say how beautiful she is  :luv: :luv:

Stats show 6746 members .......£1 each would solve the problem if it could be managed by someone .....I for one don't have a problem with a donation

cheers

Info about donating to Many Tears appears on their website here so there's no need to set up a separate fund or anything : http://www.freewebs.com/manytearsrescue/
