Salmon oil
« on: April 16, 2012, 09:03:25 AM »
Just changing Ellie over from
JWB lamb and rice to Barking Heads
Bad Hair Day(lamb and rice)which I
see has salmon oil as ingredient,
as she has salmon oil on her kibble
anyway should I be cutting down
on the oil I add? Can they have "too
much" salmon oil?

Willow has the BH's fusspot and I still add a teaspoon of fish4dogs salmon oil to her food once a day. (not sure whether I should be, but she seems fine on it)  :D

Maddy,
I've e-mailed Barking Heads to
see what they think so I'll let
you know if I get any info back.

I suppose it depends on the individual dog, Odie had those massive problems with itching continuously within a day of starting on a small amount of the Fish4dogs salmon oil (just another in a line of little 'things' he has..... :P).  Best to check though  :D
Both taken away from us far too soon. x  RIP Angels Odie & Archie, causing mayhem at the Rainbow, no doubt!

Oh blimey I thought this was meant to stop itching not create it, poor Odie. I started Willow on the salmon oil when she was on RC as she had a dandruffy type thing. When i changed her food I continued with it as she seems to like it and I sometimes add it to what I put in her kong or use it to mix with the plaque off I give her once a day.

8 hairy feet, let me know what barking heads say  :D

That's what I though Maddy!  Fish4dogs hadn't heard of itching being set off by the oil but have noted it anyway.  The effects took over 2 weeks to subside, it's funny as he can eat their salmon mousse with no problems!

Have been feeding BH for a few years. Have used Fish4 dogs salmon oil for the last two years, and my two have been fine.
