Well, we know he's here!!
Toilet training is leaning towards the successful, day 1 was 1 outdoor elimination, day 2 was 2 outdoor eliminations and day 3 was 3 outdoor eliminations!!! So I'm taking this to mean he's getting there! He does still do the thing where we can stand outside for ages then he'll do it when we get in but we'll get there. It's easier now that boyfriend is home and we can share it, I was starting to go mad!!!!
Last night we had a whole night with the crate door shut, and no noise!! He is in our bedroom and this seems to work. He was dry all night too. Let him out at 3am as he was stirring but nothing. He did think it was time to get up at 5am though!!
But he was really good and I popped him back in with a nylabone and he was quiet until 6.30am.
Bit more like it!
Currently training him not to scream the house down whenever I leave the room!!! Being more strict now. Been reading Ian Dunbar's book about rewarding when quiet and leaving the gaps longer and longer. Taken over an hour this morning but he's quiet! Got a kong in his crate. I'm off out for half an hour in a bit. See how we go!
I went out for 40 minutes yesterday and you'd have thought I'd done something terrible!!!
I have booked him in for his second jabs and we're on the list for a puppy party at the vets and also for puppy classes.
On Tuesday we had the Olympic torch come through our town and I took him out in my rucksack on my front and we went down the seafront. Thought it'd be perfect time for a bit of socialisation! We saw motorbikes, policemen, children, men, women, wheelchairs, cyclists, runners, all of it! And he was good as gold!! He loved the motorbikes!!
We're also getting there with the command sit!!
In the evenings do you just let your puppy settle wherever s/he feels? I just want to make sure we're doing the right thing! Luca sits on the floor at our feet on a fleece blanket.
Hope everyone else's puppy is doing ok!
