Title: Wish Me Luck!

A little 14 week old Cocker Spaniel called Charlie has come up for adoption on the dogpages website. I put myself forward to offer him a home on Wednesday. The Rescue centre who have him still have not made their decission and the suspense is absolutely KILLING me! I know they have had hundreds of people wanting to adopt him so don't know how much of a chance I have got :cry:

The really spooky thing though as with us already making plans to get another Cocker Spaniel we had already decided on the name "Charlie"

I'll let you know the outcome good :D or bad :cry:

The wait is driving me absolutely BONKERS! I've been in my office most of the morning waiting for some news by email or on the website (No housework being done this weekend!) Know everyone else who has put themselves forward to adopt little Charlie must be in the same state as me. Since Wednesday 15th when the post was added upto this morning there has been 2727 views of the thread!

Isnt it sily how it turns your day to day life upside down, cause there is just that little bit of hope that it might be you !!!!! All i wish is that Charlie gets the loving forever home that he truly deserves and isnt passed from pillar to post anymore !!!!! He has had too many homes for such a ickle boy !!!!!!

Just back in the office AGAIN! (Had to go drag myself away from the computer and buy some food for the family at some point before they all starved to death!)

Ohh Sam, I'm SO SO sorry believe me :cry: My 2 children :?: Emma aged 19 and James 17. I still do not know either way Oh my God... now don't know if I'm still in with a chance to have Litte Charlie or Debbie's computer has blown up afterall. I know how you must be feeling Sam and I am getting the gut feeling I will be feeling exactly the same as you by the end of the weekend :cry:

Don't know now if I'm ever going to go home tonight to cook the food (luckily enough my office is 5 doors away from my house so maybe Emma, James or my other half will bring the food to me!)

Take care Sam, I am really thinking of how you must be feeling :cry:

14 weeks old :shock: Poor little thing :cry: I have looked on dogpages but I can`t find any details about him, perhaps I am looking in the wrong place :? Can anyone help :?: I don't want to adopt him but I would like to find out a bit more about him.

Still no update :cry: Been home.. put dinner in the oven... now back online in the office with my Cocker Spaniel Suzie on my lap... Between checking my emails ( and checking that every 2 minutes now no joke!) and checking on dogpages still no clearer on the update on little Charlie :cry: My other half and chilrden are just as desperate now to know, they keep phoning me on my mobile asking about Charlie. Now the suspense is KILLING me :!:

I'm sure you will get a reply soon - you just have to be patient for a wee bit longer :wink:

I showed interest, then our computer server went down, so no contact for 24hrs. When on line again, found out that as I hadn't responded, he had been offered to the next person.

As a great believer in fate, I thought it just wasn't meant to be and sent a message to advise, but left my telephone number, just in case!!24hrs later I had a phonecall and Cagney was ours. We picked him up the next day. So never give up and use all forms of communication, just in case!!!!If it's meant to be, it will happen!!

Post by: Fran on January 20, 2004, 10:21:41 AM: Just got my long awaited email.... I'm being considered in offering Little Charlie a home :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: What a great start to such a grey day

A list of requests that I need to crack on with today....
1) Written confirmation from my Vet that Suzie will be spayed within the next couple of months.

2) Wriiten confirmation that Charlie will 'be done' around 6/7 months old.

3) Written reference from my Vet.

4) Find a local Rescue Centre to have a home check done.

It's great that they are so thorough and caring.

Also I have been given an update on Little Charlie. He is getting cheekier and cheekier by the day, and is settling in alittle too well. He loves taking slippers, toys, boxes etc. to his bed and is a real thief (Charlie sounds like a typical Cocker Spaniel :lol: ) He is eating well , he is on Bakers Puppy Complete with alittle junior puppy meat. He also loves bread and butter and choc biscuits.

Ohh I got butterflies in my stomach now :lol:

Better get cracking on!!!

Had an email from the Rescue Centre this morning, she is going to try and arrange a home check for me. (My local Rescues do not have the resources) My vet is sending out my reference today. Rescue Centre said if all is fine we could be bringing Little Charlie home this weekend :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

Oh My God, I'm so excited Iam nearly jumping up and down in my seat like a 6 year old child while typing this

Todays Charlie Update

My Vet's lovely lovely Receptionist knocked at my door at 8.30pm last night to personally drop of my reference as she said everything goes out 2nd class. (I had to contain myself before I threw my arms around her and kissed her :P ) It's being scanned in to email over to Rescue Centre. Had an email from Rescue Centre this morning... home check on Sunday, if they get the OK we can pick Charlie up on Sunday :P :P :P :P :P :P :P

I'm so happy, I'm so happy :P :P :P :P :P :P

Just come into my office to let you all know about the home check. Alison, the lady who came around said she will do the report today so we can collect Charlie and bring him home ASAP :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P .

The lady brought her dog with her to see how Suzie reacted with another dog in the house. Suzie was a little angel :P She shared all her toys straight away.
