Title: Bens agility Christmas party
Post by: Ben's mum on December 05, 2006, 09:21:23 PM
Just come back from Bens agiliy party - which involved all sorts of great games for the dogs (we joined in as well!)
things were going swimmingly until the sausage race.
We were split into two teams for a sort of relay over identical courses of jumps - so I'm thinking no problem   until I saw them put plates of cocktail sausages under 4 of the jumps.
Rules:  to complete the course without your dog eating any sausages........ >:(  as soon as your dog ate a sausage you had to go back to the begining and run again.
well I'll leave the picture of devistation and carnage to your imagination - how do you tell a cocker that he can't eat sausages ?
and yes it all ended in tears when our team got disqualified cos not only did Ben eat all the sausages put out for our team, but ran across and pinched all the goodies from the next team, I ended up man-handling him from the ring while he howled and whooowhooed all the way back to the starting line, we never did get over any of the jumps...

Final humiliation came when he mugged a lady in the egg and spoon race, grabbed the egg and proceded to eat it shell and all, so the game had to be abandoned...... ph34r
I wouldn't be surprised if next years invite gets lost in the post.........

Sounds like he surpassed himself - go Ben!

Ours is on the 16th which is also Bella's 2nd birthday so she's gonna have a lovely day. They have a scary sounding thing called "Jump 'n' Drive" where you and your dog sit in a golf buggy and do a slalom around some traffic cones, then jump out and do a mini course of jumps, no penalties for anything, it's just the fastest pair that win. I can just imagine Bella sitting in a golf buggy like the Queen herself doing the royal wave  :005: Still at least we'll get to compete against some other "Mini's" - the class I'm in is ALL border collies apart from Bell so it'll be nice to see how she is against other little squirts who aren't whizzes at the weaves...  :D
