Today is a very special day for us as Tilly is one year old today. She has had a sparkly party collar for special days from Emily and sausages for breakfast!
She is now fast asleep - maybe she is dreaming of having a virtual birthday party with all her COL friends? Virtual sausages all round!

Happy Birthday Tilly :D and good luck at your show with Emily  it means you have to be super good now as she's bought you a nice sparkly collar

Thank you all so much for your good wishes - Tilly appreciates them! We did take some pictures this morning, but in typical fashion they look a bit like a black smudge wearing a sparkly collar. Maybe I will post them anyway and you can at least admire the collar, if not the wearer (who does look very pretty in it, honest!) If anyone has any advice on how to photograph a black cocker then I would gratefully receive it!

Was just thinking the same thing about Dallas   She looks great and I'm just loving that collar - I had decided(finally!) that my new pup will be an orange roan but might have to opt instead for another black based on that collar
-
It don't matter what colour, Gill! The important thing is, it's a girl you're getting - so can put nice fancy sparkly collars on her  Cooper's 'bit' is still in hiding so I may start now, brainwashing him into thinking he's a girl   . By the time he's one I'll have one of those collars on him. I really love that one that Tilly's got :D :P

Hi Sue Tilly is Gorgeous I have the same problem trying to take piccies of my black lab Nell.... Sometimes all you can see are her light brown eyes. :D Love her collar, us girlies have got to have a bit of bling!!havent we.

There's nothing wrong with a bloke who's in touch with his feminine side, most females find it very attractive. If he wants a bit of "bling" let him

 I'm so sorry I missed this :(
But hope you had a fab birthday Tilly, your collar is looking well lush on you 8)
Indie has a sparkly number too  She said anytime Tilly fancies painting the town red, give her a woof

Happy Birthday Tilly ! :D She looks a real pretty girl in that photo, a lovely expression and very sweet eyes. :D
Well done to your daughter for handling her at the Solids Show too. Her bravery puts to shame scaredy cats like myself.
-
Thanks Colin. She is a sweetie, with a lovely nature. Thank you for your nice comments.
As for being a scaredy-cat, I know what you mean, it seemed quite daunting to us at first as everyone else seems so expert. But we found everyone at Solid Cockers so friendly and supportive. Really nice, pleasant people and we had a lovely day in the sunshine. Emily's confidence was boosted no end by the informal, relaxed atmosphere and the fact that eveyone was so nice to her, even though she is such a novice handler (and it showed!) and I am such a novice groomer (and it showed!!). It didn't matter that they came last in two classes - they got some lovely rosettes anyway and had a fun time, and didn't come last in the third class- wahay :D :D ! Why not give it a go? I'm sure you and your dogs would have fun and you get the opportunity to learn from the experts.
Emma - the thought of Indie and Tilly, out on the town in their sparkly collars? The town wouldn't know what had hit it!! Aren't they gorgeous, these cockers?

Happy belated birthday Tilly.
Sue,
Where did you get that collar, my new one is a little black girl  now do they do puppy size :D
Michelle

Thanks Michelle,
Tilly's collar was one of our many purchases at Crufts - it has been put away until now. Sorry, I can't remember the name of the stall. They did do them in all sizes and colours though. The little ones had just one row of "diamonds" and the bigger ones had two or more. Sorry can't help more than that - hope you don't have to wait until Crufts 2005 to treat your little pup!
As for Morgan, I say go boy! I'm sure no-one would dare suggest he was anything other than all boy, Shirley, despite his sparkly collar!

Michelle, they have little sparklie numbers at Pets Paraphernalia, in Burscough :) I got Indie one, £4.95!

Awww, Happy Birthday Tilly, love the new collar!
Is that a Rayburn I spotted there? We have a red one and Indie loves lying beside it!
