Benson is 5 months old today , we had to collect worming tablets from the vet , when she weighed him i was shocked that he weighs 13.4 killos, he is very tall and long but not fat at all ,are working cockers generally bigger or have i got a springer in disguise lol

There is a field cocker aswell as the English cocker and they are a bigger dog . Their height is between an English cocker and a springer spaniel.

I think that's ok - my Indie is nine months now and weighs 14.8kgs.

The vet reckons he's perfect.

Field Spaniels are pretty rare - they are on the list of endangered British breeds now so you're not going to come across one very often. Working Cockers do come in all shapes & sizes - my neighbour has a very small one (smaller than our show Cockers) but I used to trim a very tall orange Working Cocker who weighed a ton  As with any type of Cocker, there is no correct weight or size for a particular age - a bigger type will naturally weigh more than a smaller type but that doesn't mean the heavier dog is overweight.
