Oh took 4 dogs out for a walk this morning at 7.30am and only came back with 3! :'(
I have been out all day looking for him and I can't find him anywhere. I think that someone must have him but why havn't they phoned the dog warden??? >:(
I wouldn't think he would go anywhere different and OH thought he must have come home so came straight back but no Pumba!!
He knows his way home but thought if he could get back he would have by now.
Any ideas as to what to do next please?? :'(
Kids will be gutted when they get back and mummy hasn't found him! :'( :'(

Put posters up everywhere and hand out leaflets to dog walkers, posties, binmen, etc.
Contact dogslost (leave them a message + see who their local rep is on there as well) http://www.doglost.co.uk (http://www.doglost.co.uk)
Are you in an area that runs near another local authority - if he's lost his collar or tag then someone may have taken him to another local authority area (if people don't know an area they pick a dog up and take them to their destination area and leave with dog warden there - its my local dog warden's bugbear)
Keep ringing dog warden - vist their kennels regularly as well jus tin case he's been missed
Ring round every vet, local rescues.

Oh no ! How awful - Is he microchipped or tagged?? I would ring the dog warden, local vets etc. fingers crossed he is home soon :-*

Oh no what a nightmare, have you phoned all the vets etc, my cavie used to run away whenever she had the chance but she usually went to the same place, so has he done it before? if so look where you found him, look in all the places he is familiar with and get those posters up, Good luck wish I could physically help >:(

Have you phoned the local vets, police (although they probably won't be interested) as well as the dog warden? Have you got any friends or neighbours that can help you search?
I don't know what else to suggest at the moment, but maybe you need to start thinking about making up posters with photos of him to start putting up in the local area if you don't find him very soon.
I wish I was near enough to come and help search with you.

He is already on Dogs Lost, did that this morning.
Have rung the dog warden and their kennels but will try south yorkshire insted of north Lincs aswell.
Will get some posters printed off and up.
Have asked all dog walkers I have seen today and no sign of him have also asked all people to keep an eye out at the local playgroup where my youngest 2 go.
Have rung the police and they just said anyone who reports a lost dog will be given dog wardens number.
Will keep trying!!

Poor you, you must be beside yourself.
Can you post a description of the dog/area he went missing in and picture on here too - you never know who might see it.

How about putting it also on Nessr ( www.nessr.net) too.... there is a section for dogs lost/found. Good Luck! Hope he soon turns up...

Oh I really hope you find him soon :-\ I once lost Brook for 24 hours when he ran away after being spooked by roadworks. I knew nobody would be able to take him in (not without losing their hands!) and we vwere close to lots of busy roads. Thamkfully he came home of his own accord the next day, filthy so no idea what he had been up to, but it was the scariest day of my life.
I would definitely ring the local vets if you haven't done so. Certainly when I worked at a vets, we were the first ones called if someone had found a dog. Was it North Lincs he ran away? I know someone who lives in North Somercotes if thats any use? :-\

Poor you, have you retraced OH steps, could he possibly fallen down a ditch or be trapped in some fencing, as others have suggested the dog warden and leaving posters up. i have everything crossed that Pumba is home with his family very soon. wish i was able to help look for him , but down in the South :luv:

He's Found HOORAY!!!! :luv:
We live in North Lincs and so I phoned them this morning, but someone on here suggested if you live on the boundry which we do to phone South Yorks as well!!! Stupid not to think of it really!!
They have him in the kennels so going to get him now!!

Have just seen this, so pleased that he's been found. Its my worst nightmare for Misha. Once she gets her noise to the ground in a wooded area, she forgets all about Roly & me. Have to keep stopping and giving her a whistle so that she knows where we are, otherwise by the time she realises she can't find us she panics and does 100mph back to the car. Thankfully her recall is A1

;) So glad you have found him, our cavie would escape at every opportunity and its heart stopping, she would usually end up at the vets or the pound, once it was after 5pm so we couldn't pick her up till the following day, we were worried sick about her there and had to pay for the priviledge >:( Glad he is back with you safe and well ;)

Thanks soooo much everyone!!
He is now home mooching around the garden looking sorry for himself!! Picked him up from the kennels and he looked at me as if to say What did you make me come here for!!! >:D
He did try to sit on my knee all the way home, even though I was driving!!
Believe it or not he is tatooed in his ear, they said they couldn't read it!! :-\
I did my microchipping course on sat, just waiting for the equipment to arrive and then I will be chipping him too!! :005:
He was picked up 15 miles from where we live, and he had to cross the M180 motorway to get there!! Just glad he is ok!! :D

My friend's Lurcher did the same a few weeks ago and was also found after several hours and about 15 miles from where he'd gone missing.
