Title: A little cracker at agility
Post by: jujuli on March 17, 2010, 09:00:50 PM
I have come back from agility buzzing.  We started a different agility club a year ago and either we didnt get enough help or he was just too hyper but I just wasnt getting anywhere and was so frustrated, I felt like the dunce of the class so I reluctantly gave up.  Anyway a year later and I felt like trying again at a new club in Great Yarmouth (chosen because the owners have spaniels and there were lots of spaniels taking part).  It has now been 5 or 6 weeks and we just completed a course with 15 pieces and we did it all with no faults! Unbelievable! The trainers have been patient with me, who has rubbish coordination and they understand spaniels so I feel we are actually getting somewhere at long last!  The owner said to me on the way out that he was a little cracker tonight, so that made my day!  :D

Thank you! I'm starting to think that maybe a real competition is not completely out of the question??!! Never thought I'd say that.

YAY!! Congratulations. The right club makes all the difference. My old club used to treat Morgana as the honorary mini as most of the others where big dogs and collies and I really didn't feel like we got much attention and morgana got extremely wound up as we only got little turns in between the proper dogs as I think they sore it, so I gave up, but then found another club and they are fantastic and although they joke about her spaniel nose they are brilliant and have really helped bring her on and she really enjoys it and is doing really well. If I can find the time I would love to compete with her and may well do in the future. My mum does it with our collies and I used to compete with my Nim, so maybe we'll see you at a show some time.  :D
