Using photobucket from a computer seems quite tricky. I always use my iPad with an iPhone app (the actual iPad app doesn't seem to be quite so user friendly for some reason). You just click on the IMG code and it automatically copies the code which you then paste into your post. I wouldn't have thought you need to keep the photobucket tab open once you have copied the code.
