Ozzy is insured with Petplan and his has gone up just a few pounds for his second year. We made a big claim when he was just 4 months old and had to have his left eye removed, so we were pleased with the renewal fee. I know it's more expensive than a lot of companies but, having had experience with our last dog who had epilepsy, and who's drugs alone cost twice as much as the premium per month even in the beginning, and a whopping £200 a month for the last year or so of her life, let alone the regular blood tests and specialist investigations. Petplan paid every claim without a quibble, and would have continued to pay up had she not had to be PTS after an accident at 5 years old. We feel that the proof of how good an insurance company is is not in the lowness of their premiums, but in what happens when you make a claim, and will be sticking with Petplan even though we've had quotes that are much cheaper.
