Poor Alfie has meningitis!!!!!

Hi everyone

OMG as a family we've had a couple of stressful days! On Sunday we woke to find poor Alfie (6months) could hardly move, we rushed him to the vets and they spent Sunday and Monday trying to get his temperature down but with no luck. They referred us to a Local Super Vet on Tuesday morning and within 20mins of being there they told us he had Meningitis and was in a great deal of pain and they needed to operate asap.

After the most stressful 2hours of my life the Vet took some spinal fluid out of him to test and confirm the diagnosis.

At the moment the poor little thing is still at the Vets waiting on his results, I'm hope he makes a full recovery but its going to be a long and expensive process.  :'( :'(


Has anyone had or come across this before???

Didn't Maddies Willow have meningitis???
I'm sure it was Willow, i will look ....
eta yes it was and she went on to make
a full recovery... I'm sorry I dont know

Hi  Yes Ive just had a search and read all the 14 pages! I hope we have the same result, Alfies results should of been at the Vets at 10am this morning but they still havent arrived (3pm Now)and until they do they cant start to fix him and its breaking me in two!!
I finish work at 4 and Im straight to the Vets to sit and wait for them to arrive, I cant stand it..........

The nurse told me that hes ok but I've called the vet 4 times today and shes still not replied or called me back??   Hes been like this for 4 days now and Im V worried its going to have long term damage.

Poor little lad! How awful, I never realized dogs could catch it. Sending lots and lots of hugs and good wishes, hope he's on the road to recovery soon!  :bigarmhug:
