My New Addition
« on: February 01, 2006, 05:09:20 PM »

This is my new rescue working cocker  Bailey (on the right). He has been with us now for approx.6
weeks. He was 1 year old on 14th Dec.He had already had 3 homes before us, but he has settled in very well and gets on O.K with Spud and especially our springer bitch Molly.
He has already destroyed two "zappers" and chewed the legs on all of the dining chairs and the corners off the nest of tables, also my OH work boots!.
Having said that he is very good when he is out, already coming back well to the recall whistle and he doesnt get too far ahead.I have just got him a dummy to start
retrieving lessons

I am aiming to take him to Gundog training classes in the summer. There is one quite close to us that I have been to before with my other working cockers.
I did not get any papers  with him so unfortunately I do not know his pedigree at all.

He's gorgeous, Wendy   What a handsome lad.  It's good to hear he has ended up in such a good home after his bad start in life.

Have you tried the gundog training at the Meadows?  Someone has told me about it, but I've not been with Tilly. Even though they said it was informal, and just to turn up, I am worried that we will be humiliated

I'm sure you'll have some fun with him!  And well doen to Spud for accepting him so nicely.

Yes Sue it was the one at the Meadows that I was thinking of going to.Do you know when it starts again?.

I used to go to the East Midland Gundog club with Badger and I thought this was the same one,but maybe it isn't

No. sorry, I don't.  One of my neighbours is involved in running it I think (he's the one who told me I should take Tills along  :) ).  Next time I see him, I'll ask.
