Yep Fernie does it - it makes her bum look cute and squidgy!  My hubby reckoned they were the only breed that did but he's probably wrong!   He calls it frogs legs - I've not heard of spatch-cock before!

She often lies flat when approaching other dogs but only her front legs, chest and her chin on the ground- maybe a sign of respect, or caution.

All of my Cockers have done this, and I noticed that Pepper, a neighbour's dog who we mind, also does it.

My Cockers have all been male and often squatted to wee rather than lift their legs.  Is this a Cocker thing?
