Female cocker wanted 12 - 18 months old
« on: May 20, 2004, 08:37:57 PM »
I already have a male blue roan aged 12 months who just loves other dogs, female would therefore need to be used to other dogs in the house.
We have no children at present but this may not always be the case.

We live in the North West area (Manchester)

Please please please get in touch if you know of any available as we are desperate for another cocker.....

Young Cocker bitches very rarely come onto rescue either through the Club Rescue Scheme or via other rescues - probably because owners of young bitches find it very easy to rehome them privately. I get more requests for bitches under 2 years old than any other age range but they are not easy to find.

Thanks for all your replies   :)

I have registered with the cocker rescue, quite a few in actual fact but nothing has come up yet.

I was told by many people that a bitch would be best suited with me already having a young male (he's has been neutered) but does anyone think two males would be ok?, I suppose it all depends on the dog really.
My cocker loves other dogs and does get on with my Mums male Jack Russell, although I don't know what he would be like if he lived in the same house.

Two males could get on, it just depends on the dog. The best thing is if you are rescuing a dog then to do careful introductions.
