anyone else having problems with IE 8

Ever since I so called upgraded, I've been having so many problems  Connection problems, problems with downloading stuff, and LOADS of problems typing stuff on COL...the window disappears and I can't see what I'm typing, not to mention black stripes across pics that I try to view  I want my old version back...can I do that?

I am having the same problems and wish I hadn't upgraded  .  I am thinking of trying a different browser all together, maybe Firefox or Google Chrome.

I have downloaded IE8 without any problems but use Firefox most of the time. There's a compatability view button immediately to the right of the address bar in IE8 - if you click on that, it might improve some of the problems people seem to be having.

If you're an XP user and want to go back to IE7, you'll need to uninstall IE8 via your Control Panel, then re-download IE7 from the Microsoft site HERE. You might also need to adjust your automatic Windows Update settings otherwise you might find IE8 being installed again whether you want it or not

I've never been able to use IE on this laptop, I use Opera and it's been really good.

I loved Firefox until it started to load really slowly. Now I use Google Chrome for most things. I like it very much.

My OH has seen problems with IE causing older programs to lock up and complain.

 Would recommend using Firefox, but make sure you keep it up to date too. Lots of nice add ons, like add blockers (Adbock Plus) and you can skin it to look like IE if that's your thing!

only problem I had was issues with forums but I click on the compatability tab at the top - looks like a green page that's broken in the middle
