Avatar pic
« on: January 09, 2012, 12:44:53 PM »
I've been having trouble getting an avatar picture. I have a picture on flickr which I've tried to put as my avatar photo; I've tried it with the BB code and with the http:\\ link but none of them show a photo. I've tried to upload a photo from the computer but failed again...can someone point me in the right direction please?

Looks as though you have managed it but perhaps could do with resizing it.
Though Charlie is absolutely beautiful :luv: :luv:

Did you want this as your avatar pic as you've put it in your signature? I'll delete it and add the link to the right section under your profile.

PS It looks a little squished because it wasn't a square photo and avatars are square so wider pics get slightly squished, sorry.

No I'd wanted the photo as my signature (but smaller) and a different one as my avatar lol

Ah well the title of your thread is avatar pic so no wonder I was confused :005: Signature photos must be around 150 px wide & no more - the pic you had there was rather larger than that :lol2: You'll need to resize it first before putting it back. If you need help in resizing, you can usually do it within Photobucket/Flickr or there are basic online image resizers you can use if you don't have photo editing software yourself eg http://www.photosize.com/

Ok I've got my signature resized now :)

Just need a bit of help for my avatar...this is the picture I was attempting to put on - It should be the link for a square version but I'm not sure how I get it as my avatar (copying the link in doesn't work).

Looks like the pic was too big for the system to cope with - I selected a smaller version of the file from your Flickr album and it seems to be working now

Thank you. It's not the best photo but it'll do until I get a better one.

Incidentally for future what size do I need for the avatar piccy?

Avatars are 80px x 80px square but the system can generally resize pics if they're a bit bigger than that, just not too big.
