Lovely news, really pleased.

Just hope all the publicity doesn't have a negative effect for cockers  :-\

Sorry, don't mean to be a party pooper  ph34r
Hadn't thought of that and now you have mentioned it I quite agree, especially if its a working type, if their popularity rises then there will be lots of workers ending up in homes that really aren't equiped to deal with a workers needs

Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking.  Hopefully there won't be too much press, the royals have that many dogs it's not a huge story.

Fantastic news :luv: Please someone correct me if I am wrong, but I thought the Queen kept working cockers, as well as the more famous Corgis :P

Certainly do - Louie goes back to Sandringham lines (Sandringham Mango).

I saw this earlier, they clearly have very good taste!

Good taste i knew i must be related to royalty
I just hope they don't become the latest must have fashion accessory just because Kate has one, people seem obsessed with her

You are definitely not alone.  I must be dreaming but I am sure I read a year or two back that they had both got new dogs and Kate's was a black working cocker.  What happened to that?

Another one who doesn't give 2 hoots about them....however, I do share the concerns about the chance of it having a negative effect on the breed e.g being seen as the latest fashion accessory.  :-\

But yes, great taste  ;)

With everyone one this. Nice for them but my mind wanders to those puppy farmers rubbing their hands with glee and the poor bitches who will be over bred to meet a fashion.

my thoughts turn to the amount of working cocker puppies that will turn up in rescue at around 6 months of age  :-\
