New to site, new puppy in family
« on: January 17, 2008, 07:15:26 AM »
Hiya all  (live nr Ely, Cambridgeshire)

We have just got a new family member, his name is Barney(we named him), he is 4.5 months old and came from a KC registered breeder, for some reason he was not chosen (hence his age)  he is the soppiest puppy I have ever met and now that he is home has settled in very well.  The first 4.5 months of his little life was spent in a kennel with lots of younger puppies and had never been indoors.  He is wearing a collar with no fuss and seems to like going on his lead in the garden.  Has had his first injections and is booked for his second one.

Just wanted to say this looks a great site, we have a lot to learn and I am sure you will all help me with my questions along the way.

Look forward to chatting with some of you

Debbie

Welcome to this site Debbie but be warned - it is extremely addictive!
I have Suki (Saluki Cross who will be 3 in April) Josie a Springer x labrador who will be 2 in March, Buffy my beloved cocker spaniel who is 11 months old, and Poppy who is a 5 month old Yorkie.  We also have 3 cats, 2 budgies and 2 children aged 19 and 12 - I still find time to log on here for advice on anything from dogs to holidays, to cars, to children.
It is great  :005:
Penny,   Dexter (cavalier x poodle), Alfie (Whippet cross)  and  Maximus the cocker spaniel!!

RIP my 2 most gorgeous cocker girls - Buffy and Harriet - both waiting for me at the bridge. Joined by my beloved Josie taken too soon and Suki aged 13 :(

welcome!

Barney looks lovely  :luv:

If he's been in a Kennel until now, it might be worth asking your breeder for a list of things he has experienced/seen so far then you can start to introduce him gently to new things without worrying him too much. But it sounds like he's settling into a busy household really well so he's probably quite a confident laid back chap  :luv:

Would love to see some more pics soon!

Barney is my baby, he has settled in so well, not interested in the cats, don't think he has worked out what they are yet    he was very timid when we got him and would not come out of the kennel/pen at the breeders, but now he is a happy chappy, does not nip, is very very placid, still barmey though, has the mad running around time, and loves his toys, which he is learning how to play with, had no toys before he came to us, so it is all new.

I have no idea how to post photos, have not got too many yet,

anyone that wants to see a photo I can mail to e-mail address, that I find easy   ::)

Lucky you though no nipping!
