Can't add avatar pic

Ive shrunk my photo to 80 px square uploaded it to Flickr and copied link but just get the blue square and question mark. I couldn't upload directly from my iPad as the option box was greyed out. Any ideas?

I had exactly this problem last week and someone on here suggested to me that you can't do this from an iPad.  Can you do it from another computer?  I did it on my mac and it worked perfectly and easily
