Help since Coco has been castrated he has turned into a fluff ball. He is working strain and had always had a very sleek coat. I dont want to clip him back so in your opinian what would be best to thin out his coat.

I've merged your two threads into one Kimberley :D

How old is Coco and what colour? I expect the fluffiness is due to him being castrated, but if he's a puppy and is liver coloured those may contribute towards the fluffiness too. I know a couple of people on here who have liver coloured working Cockers that aren't neutered and have had similar problems.

You could try using a Mars Coat King to see if that helps, but clipping might be your only solution in the end. I was able to continue hand stripping my neutered orange roan show type boy for a year or more after castration, then used a coat king and thinning scissors for a few years, but eventually had to resort to clippers and thinning scissors.

In that case I can't think of any option but clippers.

I have neutered male, black chat. He is a fuzz ball and I had to resort to clipping. More do during summer as his coat can get very heavy. I think he looks gorgeous clipped, shiny and velvet looking!
