Finally I Can Get Started
« on: August 26, 2004, 08:17:41 PM »
Hi everyone

It was my birthday yesterday and my husband said he would have my present for me when I came in from work, and guess what it was???  A brand new grooming table and all the equipment I need to trim Louis coat myself :D  :D   It's the best birthday present I could have ever wished for, although I don't think Louis will agree after his first trim.
What a great husband I've got, he went round all our family telling them what I wanted and asked if they would contribute towards it and they did, then he ordered the stuff over the net and kept it at my mam and dads, bless him.
I'am taking Louis to the groomers next week for a final trim by a professional, then it will be easy for me to keep on top of it, because at present he hasn't been trimmed for 8 weeks and he is looking a bit overgrown to say the least!

Happy belated birthday Gemma :)

I love it when you get pressie you love without having to leave massive hints or even buying it yourself. Maybe your hubby could give mine a few lessons in great surprise pressie buying :D

If I say surprise me I always get bath smelllies  He really has no idea

Good luck with the grooming too :)
lots of woofs n' licks,

Lucky you Gemma!

I hope you enjoy using the grooming stuff - my grooming table is the best thing ever, but unfortunately I had to buy it myself!

Well done to Gemma's hubby for getting things so right  :D

Belated birthday greetings Gemma  :D

I don't have a grooming table (nor do I have a husband who would ever think to buy me one   ) but I do have all of the other bits and bobs.

I have had a go at grooming Piper and it looked okay....ish.  Was a bit worried of hacking off more than I should have - plus she's a fidget.  Guess practise make perfect as they say.

Wish you lots of luck in the grooming stakes  :D

Thanks for all your replies :D  :D

I put Louis on the table on friday, but I don't think he liked it very much, just sat shaking while I brushed him.  Just going to put him on for short periods of time until he gets used to.  I thought he would be used to it as he gets groomed every 6 weeks by a professional, but I don't actually see him on the table so maybe he shakes with them ;)  ;)
Do you think it would be a good idea to give him a treat while he is on the table just to begin with?

Bye for now
