Digestive system changes
« on: September 22, 2018, 10:13:58 AM »
Maddie, who will be eight in November,  has always had a cast iron stomach in that she could eat (or scavange  >:D) most things with no effect on her system.
This year however, I've noticed that even the smallest addition to her diet creates mild colitis and must make her uncomfortable as she needs to go out urgently. This week it was a small piece of raw  cabbage which I used to be able to give her.
Has anyone with an older dog noticed a similar thing as they age?

Hi, yes Ollie - 9 next month - has had a few upset tummies after scavenging  (he's terrible on walks and will eat anything  :020:)
A couple of months ago I started giving him Kefir every day and, touch wood, he hasn't had a bout since.
