3rd Eyelid problem

Hi there. I?m looking for some advice. My 2 year old boy has had 2 episodes of a noticeable 3rd eyelid in one eye over the past 2 days. It looks quite bloodshot and as if the eye is rolling but then corrects itself. It?s really quite worrying to see. Hopefully I?ll get in to the vet tomorrow but wondering if anyone has experience of this?

I would go to vet ASAP,  sounds painful, but I?ve no experience of this.
