Hips and leg worries
« on: November 03, 2018, 09:46:48 AM »
Hi
Humbug used to go to day care (with lots of time in a paddock  sniffing as he?s not a big socialiser or runner). He went every other day in the week but after my mum was ill in the summer he went full time Monday to Friday in September.

Since then and definitely in mid October he?s been very very tired at the weekends. But I started to notice a slow back leg. It isn?t bothering him at all but sometimes when he comes in from the garden he hits it on the door step. When he walks or sits it?s just a bit odd and sometimes he seems to trip on it. Now he sometimes seems to have muscle spasms in his leg at times it appears to be shaking.

A week of bed rest and anti inflammatory tablets and I?ve noticed very little change. So they?ve suggested x rays.

I?m in a quandary as that means more anaesthetic at aged 8. He seems absolutely fine in himself. I?m just worried what they might find.

X-rays are the only way to discover if there's anything wrong even if they go on to do physio or similar. X-rays will be fairly quick so anaesthesia minimal too. Limps at any age can sometimes be difficult to get to the bottom of.
