sore neck
« on: April 02, 2011, 02:24:23 PM »
Pepper has a really sore part on the front of his neck where his collar has rubbed. I think it must have been getting wet and making it worse.  After he went to  the groomers and I could see how red and sore it had become. I have been leaving his collar off at home and it is looking quite a bit better, but I wondered if it was safe to use anything on it. Has any one else had this problem and how do I prevent it happening again.  :-\

I think this happens quite a lot with cockers necks as they are so soft, (certainly does with Smudge, and it obviously shows more on the lighter coloured necks - his neck/chest hair is white) not sure you can put anything on it, but I do know a lot of owners prefer to take their collars off and only use them when necessary, walkies on roads etc.
Remembering Smudge 23/11/2006 - 3/8/2013, and Branston 30/8/14 - 28/10/22 both now at the Bridge.
