Part of pad missing...
« on: October 10, 2011, 10:09:48 AM »
Sitting on the sofa last night and noticed that Indie had part of a pad missing. I haven't got a clue how this could have happened  She's hardly been out the last week as recovering from a small op on the same paw. Could having a bandage on for the last 5 days maybe have softened her pad somehow???

It is possible that she is nibbling the paw herself? My brother has a collie and she cut her paw, he tried to clean it and dress it but she just spent all her time nibbling at her paw and in the end she made a right mess of it. She was taken to the vets who said it would be ok and probably gave some treatment but he had to buy some of those walking boots to keep her from doing anymore damage. It did work thankfully.

No I don't think so. We've been keeping a very close eye on her to make sure she's not licking the wound from the op.

Vet has just given her some more anti biotics to prevent any infection.
