Title: Vegas has his op today

Eeeeek. I'm just about to take my boy in to have his lip folds & teeth done. He will be having the pre-op blood sample done first due to the funny liver results that came up when we were investigating his weight loss. If there is anything untoward in the results then I'm bringing him home again. I feel sick :P

Have just had a text to let me know that they have just finished him now.......phew! Can go and collect him at 3.30. Am boiling some chicken for him to have for his tea because he will be starving!! He was not impressed at having no brekkie ::)

I guess so - they had a manic morning with so many extras that it hadn't been run by the time I had left. They were under strict instructions not to go ahead if they showed any abnormalities so I can only assume they were fine. They really struggled to get the blood out of him - he was good as gold but the blood just wasn't flowing, it was basically coming out in drips :o They didn't seem too concerned however so I just went with the flow. I'll be checking the figures when I go to pick him up though ;)

Yes he's home - I got a text about 2.30 demanding I go and pick him up as he was trying to destroy his kennel and making a lot of noise ph34r He's very sleepy but has had his chicken.

We don't do buster collars in this house :005: Had him out for a pee earlier and his wee legs were soooo shaky so he's back in and sleeping again.  One side has developed a bit of a haematoma so is a bit bleedy - luckily my bedding is due to get changed tomorrow :005:

He's doing brilliantly thanks. He was a bit sore the following day so I gave him a little Metacam but he is now right as rain. He got both sides done and he hasn't bothered with his wounds at all.

Gill I am so sorry to have only just caught up with this, there is so much to read on here these days.

One of his wounds has opened up overnight and has been bleeding :-\ He is being very grouchy when I try to have a look at it. Luckily the vet who did the surgery is doing a locum for us this week so I'll get her to have a look this morning - I really hope it doesn't need to be restitched :-\

Panic over ::) A couple of the stitches have come loose but the vet feels that the wound is healing very nicely so no need to restitch. Think i got myself into a bit of a tizz over nothing ph34r :005: :005:
