The Doggie Pill?

Stormi has just started her season, which means she may be in again in March  <_< .  I wondered if anyone has any experience with the injections to stop a bitches season?  I will be asking my vet about it, but would value the opinions/advice of others also.

Why would you want to stop a season??? Is it because it's Crufts in March ?

In all honesty I would say that's life with a bitch  ;) You can't be 100% sure she'll be in season at that time anyway, my girl came in nearly 2 months early.

My opinion would be don't mess with hormones in that way - either let them be, or have them spayed.... I have heard of setters that have got pyometra following these injections :unsure:

Yrs ago must be about 7 yrs  With my golden girl we gave her the injection because she was going in kennels and we dident want any accidents ;) anyway she never came in season again . :o  I would never use it again but I think the vet had a duty to tell us the side effects really

Thank you for your replies.  Those are the types of things I am concerned about with the injection, and although I would love to be able to take up the opportunity to work her at Crufts (she is the first dog I ever qualified, and it is probably the only chance I will get to take her there) it does not mean so much to me that I will put her health at risk or reduce the chances of having the possibility to breed from her one day.
