Poppy is poorly + in the vets. (update - it is pancreatitis)
« on: January 02, 2010, 10:46:02 AM »
Had to take Poppy to my vets this morning as she took poorly overnight.  Was sick a few times then settled down too sleep in my bedroom.  Got up this morning and she couldn't even lift her head let alone stand up.  (even with Misty bouncing in her face ::) )

Vets have admitted her as she is dehydrated, lethargic, shaking and sore.  :'( Could be pancreatits again so that is what they are testing her for and treating.  If she doesn't respond to treatment then they will do xrays.  (They are not 100% sure it is pancreatitis as she hasn't had anything unusual to eat over the festive period.)

Not the best start to 2010!

So sorry to hear this. You must be really worried, I would be especially with the history of pancreatitis. Rufus's mum had it 3 months after giving birth and was really ill. I was bad enough this morning as Rufus has again taken the skin off the rear left large pad. He sicked up bone in the night so no walk this morning. I hope all is well with Poppy as the day goes on.
