Wow, that is expensive for Argos  :o I'm still on £65 excess and premiums have only risen a couple percent with them :dunno: No doubt I have a shock coming soon  :-\

I wouldn't care, my excess is £115 :o (I upped the voluntary bit for cheaper cover - clearly that hasn't worked!).

I've just got him some Chappie dry food to try and tempt him to eat something (he's always enjoyed the tinned from time to time).  He wolfed half a bowl full in one go!  Weird as he's not touched his JWB for nearly a fortnight :-\
Both taken away from us far too soon. x  RIP Angels Odie & Archie, causing mayhem at the Rainbow, no doubt!

When I changed vets they sent the history by fax and never charged me (I think that it must be unusual for them to charge for this). My old vets then sent me a stinking letter basically saying that they were a state of the art vets and did 24 hour call outs etc etc (to show me what I was missing out on) and that I should not contact them for anything in the future or try to use their 24hr service and must now only use the vets I had changed to. Well to be perfectly honest I would not want to go back to them for anything anyway as they were awful (state of the art or not) so the loss was theirs not mine, and my new vets is brilliant.
I do hope that you get odie sorted out soon, and if he is eating again that is great news.
I would still pay the extra insurance you never know when you are going to need it.

At least Odie has eaten something  :shades:
It does seem he has completely gone off the JWB & perhaps it might be worth trying him with another good quality kibble  :-\
If any of us aren't feeling too good we sometimes associate recent foods we've eaten to not feeling well & tend to avoid that particular food  :-\
just a thought as i really don't know if it could be the same with dogs  :-\
Either way Lesley i would get Odie to the vets tomorrow  :shades:

Well like others I think I would be offski to another vet....mine never charged me when I moved practices  ;) and I think I would be staying put insurance wise but def worth ringing them and challenging the price....but thats similar to what I pay for Bella and Pops  ;)

Hope Odie gets sorted  :-*

Thanks again everyone :luv:  He's been following me everywhere again (which he hasn't done for many days) and has been giving me kisses which again, he's not done so is at least partially feeling a bit better.  He still grumbles/growls at times so that's not right though :-\

Got an appt at vets tomorrow at 2.30pm so we will see what they have to say.

:bigarmhug: for you and Odie. Pet insurance premiums are not connected to individual claim amounts (thankfully for those who have had big claims) but to general market conditions.

I agree (mine would be absolutely extortionate premiums if they related it to my claims).

Hopefully a new vet will come up with a plan of action - my own vet will outline a course of action and will often refer to a specialist than faff around (some general vets are very good at spending your insurance when they should be asking for help).

I haven't mentioned any insurance yet to them.  I just paid the £66 last time round - not sure how it works if I need to pay more out.  Do I pay up front :o and then claim (Argos Platinum) or do I ask Argos for a claim form?  Any advice from Argos customers??

I think it depends on your vet. I paid upfront and then put in a claim form (still waiting to hear!) The claim form itself has a tick box where it asks if you want the payment made to you or direct to the vet. I guess it just depends if your vet is prepared to wait. Hope your little one keeps improving and it all gets sorted out soon.
